Jalen Klemm will make the University of Washington football program just a one-year stop after disclosing on Monday he is transferring to Arizona State.

The 6-foot-5, 281-pound Klemm appeared in seven games for the Huskies this past season at offensive tackle, all in a reserve role, and, had he stayed, would have been in contention for a starting job.

He is the son of Adrian Klemm, a former NFL player and currently the New England Patriots offensive-line coach, who helped place his son first at Kansas State and then the UW.

This time, the younger Klemm will go play for a Sun Devils team headed up by Kenny Dillingham, who was the offensive coordinator alongside Adrian Klemm in 2022 at Oregon.

At the UW, Klemm backed up first-team All-Pac-12 selection Troy Fautanu at left tackle. He likely needs another 20 pounds to be ready to assume a starting role.

At the Sugar Bowl, Klemm said he was pleased with his progress made in Montlake and his relationship with then-Husky line coach Scott Huff.

However, with Huff moving to Alabama with coach Kalen DeBoer last month, everything apparently changed for him in Seattle and the younger Klemm now make Arizona State his third college stop.
