In this story:

Rahshawn Clark is a football player who covers a lot of ground. For instance, he played for three different high schools. Along the way, he committed to three former Pac-12 programs.

Finally, the University of Washington got the cornerback, wide receiver and 4-star recruit to stand still long enough on Wednesday to commit to the Huskies and presumably sign a national letter of intent.

By doing so, the 6-foot, 180-pound Clark symbolically became the first local recruit for Jedd Fisch's new coaching staff in Montlake. Previously, these same coaches had pulled an Arizona commitment from Clark after getting him to flip from California.

"I chose Washington because ultimately I felt the most comfortable with that staff when it really came down to it," Clark told 247sports.

While talented enough to catch passes, Clark projects as a cornerback or nickel, demonstrating good speed and a certain level of aggressiveness.

Invited to the Polynesia Bowl recently played in Hawaii, Clark had the hit of the game when he came up and leveled quarterback Jake Merklinger, who will play his college ball for Tennessee, knocking him backward and causing a fumble.

Clark began his high school football career at Life Christian Academy in Tacoma, a Class A school, before transferring to suburban Federal Way High in the community in which he lives before ending up at Seattle's inner-city Garfield this past fall.

He was committed to Cal for six months before re-opening his recruitment. Kalen DeBoer's new UW staff offered him in June 2022. He flipped to Arizona in December shortly before the first signing date.

Clark also drew offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado, Washington State and Utah among others.
