Former Husky DB Mishael Powell Is Miami-Bound

In this story:
In November, Mishael Powell ran nearly the length of Husky Stadium with an interception to score and rescue a football game against Arizona State.
On Wednesday, the former University of Washington all-purpose defensive back did practically the same thing — he went coast to coast in the transfer portal to land a new school.
Powell will play next season for the Miami Hurricanes and Mario Cristobal, he posted on social media, and will go from the Pac-12 and skipping the Big Ten in order to now compete in the ACC.

He entered the portal four days after the Huskies played Michigan for the national championship and it took him another five days to land his new gig in South Beach. It was reported he picked Miami over Florida.
It's been a remarkable career path for the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Powell, who came to the UW from O'Dea High School as a non-scholarship athlete, or walk-on, and worked his way into a starting role as a cornerback, safety and nickelback. He initially held scholarship offers only from Ivy League schools.
His crowning moment for his hometown school came in mid-November when, with the Huskies trailing 7-6 and Arizona State moving for a clinching score, Powell stepped in front of a Sun Devils pass and raced 89 yards with it for a go-ahead touchdown in what would be a 15-7 UW victory.
Powell spent five seasons with the Huskies and started 26 of the 36 games he appeared. He intercepted 3 passes this past season to share the team lead with cornerback Jabbar Muhammad.
