Green Probably Won't Be Wearing Purple Next Season

In this story:
B.J. Green's name always has been whispered quietly around the University of Washington football program — remember, he's the guy who two seasons ago left Michael Penix Jr. prone on the ground and momentarily struggling to breathe.
Playing for Arizona State, Green came off the edge, smacked the Husky quarterback in the throat and drew a targeting call.
Both players left the field at the same time, Penix to gather his wits and sit out a play and Green ousted with an immediate ejection.
Apparently all was forgiven this past December, though, when the 6-foot, 270-pound defensive lineman committed to play his final collage season for the UW, yet he didn't sign a letter of intent at the first deadline.
Without naming names, then-Husky coach Kalen DeBoer suggested paperwork issues might cause one or more of his new players from signing right away.
A month later, DeBoer has moved on to Alabama and Jedd Fisch is the new UW football leader.
Green?
This week, the Atlanta product reportedly visited Mississippi and was scheduled to take a look at Colorado this week, with the Feb. 7 second national signing date not far off.
INTERESTING: Coach Prime was BJ Green’s first Head Coach in Atlanta.

The Huskies very well could be an afterthought for the former Sun Devils playmaker who continues to shop himself around. There's been no mention of him interacting with Fisch's coaching staff, even though the Sun Devils defender played just 90 miles from the Arizona campus.
Interestingly enough, a Colorado media outlet this week noted how Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders and Green know each other well — Prime was his first Atlanta youth football coach.
Green would be a welcome pick-up for whoever lands him. He was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection after collecting 39 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 6 sacks this past season, 60, 21 and 13.5 in his ASU career.
While Green left Penix in a damaged state in a 45-38 UW defeat in 2022, a rematch involving these two never happened. Green was injured and missed out on the Huskies' 15-7 victory in Seattle.
