William Inge will join Kalen DeBoer's Alabama football staff and supervise the linebackers, becoming the fifth former University of Washington assistant coach to move to Tuscaloosa, according to multiple news outlets.

Previously the Husky co-defensive coordinator for two seasons, Inge apparently was waiting to see what the UW was going to do with his old job.

With Jedd Fisch expected to reveal Steve Belichick on Monday as his new Husky DC, Inge turned to what appeared to be a standing offer at Alabama. He's coached with DeBoer at Indiana, Fresno State and Washington.

When Fisch was introduced as UW coach on Jan. 16, Inge attended the event and acknowledged he was looking to stay in Montlake if possible.

By going to the SEC school, Inge will be reunited with former UW assistant coaches in offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, offensive-line coach Scott Huff, receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard and tight-ends coach Nick Sheridan.

DeBoer Husky assistants who haven't resurfaced anywhere since the coaching change happened include co-defensive coordinator Chuck Morrell, running-backs coach Lee Marks, defensive-backs coach Julius Brown and defensive-line coach Inoke Breckterfield.

Eric Schmidt, DeBoer's Husky edge-rusher coach, was hired as the San Diego State defensive coordinator well before the DeBoer staff scattered.
