It's No Act, Los Angeles Cornerback Draws UW Offer

In this story:
Brandon Lockhart was discussing his family to a West Coast recruiting analyst when he mentioned how his brother, Justin Lockhart, was a San Jose State wide receiver, and how his father, Anthony C. Hall, had been a cornerback like him.
Young Lockhart somehow failed to mention that his father, not to be confused with Anthony Michael Hall, was an actor.
His dad appeared in the basketball movie "Blue Chips," playing a lead part opposite Nick Nolte and was identified as the character "Tony." Had guest roles in such iconic shows as "Baywatch," "NYPD Blue" and "L.A. Law." Used to join in pick-up basketball games at the Hollywood YMCA with his friends Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes and Arsenio Hall, who was no relation.
Understandable, this Lockhart is trying to make things happen on his own as a touted 6-foot-3, 170-pound recruit from the Class of 2026 and Loyola High School in Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, he received an offer from Kalen DeBoer's University of Washington football staff, namely defensive-backs coach Juice Brown, adding to his growing list that includes USC, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, Miami, Nevada, Penn State, San Diego State and, of course, his brother's team, San Jose State.
After a great conversation with @CoachJuice6, @drewcasani , and @CoachWestbezzie.....I am blessed to have received an offer to attend the University of Washington! @UW_Football #AGTG #U_Dub #GoHuskies #PurpleReign @GregBiggins @adamgorney @BrandonHuffman pic.twitter.com/foM5kjZyeP

Max Torres, from the Oregon site in our FanNation at Sports Illustrated network, caught up with Lockhart at a recent recruiting event and spoke with him about his preference to be a cornerback.
"I started off at safety, but I feel like everybody wants to be a receiver so might as well be the ones that lock 'em down — I prefer corner," he said. "Most people don't choose corner cause you're playing backwards, but I find it very easy to play backwards. My dad, he played DB, so it's always just been there."
In the shadows of Hollywood, Lockhart was sensational as a freshman for Loyola, which a number of years back once had a young linebacker named Jackson Sirmon. The cronerback earned first-team, all-conference honors and MaxPreps named him first-team freshman All-American.
Lockhart piled up 9 pass break-ups for a 7-6 team, along with 52 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.
Back to his family, he's obviously very close to his brother. Brandon and Justin posed recently together at San Jose State for the requisite recruiting visit publicity shots. Justin, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior, began his football career at Nevada and last season for his new and bowl-bound Spartans team finished with 36 catches for 578 yards and a score.
Oh, did Brandon forget to mention that Justin's godfather, using those Hollywood connections, is Shaquille O'Neal?
