In this story:

More than any other position, the University of Washington football team is prepared to keep the NFL well stocked in tight ends for the coming seasons when Devin Culp, Jack Westover, Quentin Moore and Josh Cuevas each makes himself available as a draft-able prospect.

After all, the Huskies have a long history of supplying pro football tight ends, with no better endorsement of their customized talent pool than what happened across the league this past weekend.

Former Husky Cade Otton, a 6-foot-5, 247-pound second-year player from Tumwater, Washington, had his finest day for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he caught 6 passes for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 39-37 loss to the Houston Texans on the road.

In Cincinnati, ex-UW standout Drew Sample, a 6-foot-5, 255-pound fifth-year pro from Bellevue, Washington, came up with 3 catches for 30 yards and a score in the Bengals' 24-18 victory over the Buffalo Bills at home.

Otton, fast becoming one of the league's better all-around players at his position, caught TD passes of 3 and 14 from quarterback Baker Mayfield. He has season totals of 28 receptions for 244 yards and 3 scores.

Sample, specifically considered one of the NFL's top blocking tight ends, caught a 22-yard scoring pass from Joe Burrow to put his team ahead 21-7 in the second quarter. He has season totals of 6 catches for 40 yards and that lone touchdown.

Interestingly, Sample had to leap over the last man with a chance at bringing him down and it was former Husky safety and teammate Taylor Rapp, as shown in the accompanying photo.
