The University of Washington football program, no matter who's in charge, has learned you simply can't recruit too many St. John Bosco High School players or offer them too soon.

On Thursday, Kalen DeBoer's staff extended a scholarship proposal to wide receiver Daniel Odom, a sophomore sensation for the Southern California powerhouse and rated as the No. 1 player at his position in his state for the class of 2026.

Odom currently holds offers, according to 247Sports, from Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame.

For sure, whoever signs Odom will receive a worldly player in terms of football travel — this 4-1 Bosco team already has played games in Florida and Hawaii, while hosting opponents from Baltimore and Las Vegas.

Heading into Friday night's game at Santa Margarita, the speedy 6-foot-2, 186-pound Odom leads the Braves in receiving with 19 catches for 310 yards and 4 touchdowns, with a long scoring grab of 50 yards.

St. John Bosco, of course, is the same school that previously sent All-Pac-12 cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Chris Petersen-coached Huskies and now the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, plus freshman linebacker Deven Bryant, signed by DeBoer and who is so good he likely won't use a redshirt at the UW this season.

The Huskies also hold a commitment from one of Odom's current teammates, senior linebacker Khmori House, who is Bosco's third-leading tackler with 28, including 4 tackles for loss.

Odom, House and their teammate are coming off a rare regular-season loss after getting upset 30-23 by the Kahuku High Red Raiders near Honolulu in Hawaii.

It was a hard-hitting, tension-filled game in which Odom had his helmet knocked off while making a catch over the middle on the final play. Bosco coaches ran onto the field upset at the play and a subsequent no call, but everyone ended up shaking hands and dealing with the outcome.
