Washington Continues To Offer Young Receivers

In this story:

Kalen DeBoer's offensive scheme is extremely wide receiver friendly and does a great job of playing to their strengths. He also has arguably one of the best wide receiver coaches in the country to work with them in JaMarcus Shephard.

Shephard has been very busy in the month of May, offering young prospects up and down the west coast from the classes of 2025, 2026, and even 2027. On Wednesday, AJ Logan became the latest pass catcher to receive (pun somewhat intended) a scholarship offer from Shephard.

Logan, who also holds offers from Arizona, Colorado State, and San Diego State, was offered at the same time as his 2027 teammate, Delontay "Uno" Williams.

While it's always hard to project what high school players will look like physically by the time they sign, the 5-10, 175-pound Logan will certainly grow into his frame by the time his senior year rolls around.

Even as a freshman, he looks like a future X receiver at the college level, displaying great speed both on special teams and on the outside of the formation. His high school offense does a great job of utilizing his strengths and getting the ball into his hands by any means necessary.

As he continues to progress as a receiver, he's going to be tough to cover in press man. While his footwork needs to be refined, it's advanced for his age and Logan looks like a future route-running savant. He makes impressive cuts on punt returns and that should translate to receiver sooner rather than later.

ROMAN TOMASHOFF

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
