After recently taking a visit to Seattle, Washington's coaching staff has decided to extend an offer to another quarterback.

2025 Findlay High School quarterback Ryan Montgomery has already accrued an extensive offer list as he prepares for his junior season and now he can add Washington to that list. His list of 28 offers also includes Ohio State, Georgia, Florida, and Notre Dame.

"I was really excited," Montgomery said. "I really like Coach Grubb's demeanor and knowledge of the game. We're going to stay in touch, and are planning on doing a Zoom call at some point in June to review some things."

Some schools have gone to great lengths to recruit Montgomery including Penn State's offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich. In what seems to be a pretty unique move, Yurcich showed up to the quarterback's high school workout in a helicopter.

Montgomery has football in his blood. His father Mike played linebacker at the University of Miami and his older brother Luke is a true freshman on Ohio State's offensive line. Luke was a four-star recruit in the class of 2023 and was ranked 120th overall in the country by 247 Sports.

During his trip to Seattle, Montgomery seemed to really enjoy what Grubb was able to show him on film. He stated his intentions to return to Montlake at some point this fall to take in a game at Husky Stadium, but that will probably be scheduled later in the summer.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
