Porco Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week

On Monday, West Virginia starting freshman pitcher Robby Porco was named the Big 12 Conference's pitcher of the week, the first WVU freshman pitcher to claim the award since the program joined the conference in 2013.
Porco tossed for a career-high six innings and finished with a career-best 12 strikeouts in the Mountaineers salvaging seriess win over Kansas on Sunday. The righty's 12 strikeouts on the day marked a season team high.
It is the second time this season a Mountaineer has earned Pitcher of the Week honors after Blaine Traxel earned the weekly honor after his performance in the game two win against Arizona in the second weekend of the season.
