WATCH: Wetherholt puts USA out front with two-run HR

West Virginia second baseman J.J. Wetherholt went to the opposite field for his second home run for the USA Collegiate Baseball team Tuesday evening.
USA was trailing 1-0 in the top of the six with a runner standing on second before Wetherholt smacked the 0-1 pitch well over the left centerfield wall to give USA the 2-1 lead over Japan.

Unfortunately, team USA fell to Japan 4-3.
Wetherholt is hitting .267 with a pair of home runs, five RBIs, three runs and five walks with team USA.
Wetherholt and USA will wrap up the Collegiate All-Star Championship Series versus Japan Wednesday evening Joseph P. Riley Park in Charleston, SC with the first pitch set for 6:30.
