Morgantown, WV - The West Virginia Mountaineers (26-11, 5-4) host the TCU Horned Frogs (22-15, 7-5) for a three-game weekend series at Monongalia County Ballpark with the series opener set for Friday night at 6:30, game two is scheduled for Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and the series finale is slated for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. All the action will stream on ESPN.

The Mountaineers are coming off a midweek win with a season-series opening over Pitt in the Backyard Brawl at PNC Park after taking a weekend series at Oklahoma State.

West Virginia second baseman and All-American candidate J.J. Wetherholt has been sidelined the last three games due to a hand injury he suffered during his 27th stolen base of the season, and he's been listed day-to-day since.

Senior shortstop Tevin Tucker has taken Wetherholt’s place at the top of the batting order and is hitting .833 the last three games, upping his season average to .368 and has a Big 12 Conference leading seven sacrifice bunts.

Junior left fielder Landon Wallace is riding an 11-game hitting streak and is hitting .395 during the stretch.

Junior Ben Hampton (3-1, 3.10 ERA) will lead the Mountaineers out onto the field in the series opener, senior Blaine Traxel (5-3, 3.29) will have the ball in game two and freshman Robby Porco (4-1, 7.52) will take the mound in the series finale. Meanwhile, TCU will counter with a pair of freshman pitchers in Kole Kleckler (7-2, 3.42) and Louis Rodriguez, and are still in search for a Sunday starter.

TCU has dropped three of its last four games, losing a home series to UNC-Wilmington and a midweek loss to Lamar.

Freshman Anthony Silva leads the Horned Frogs at the plate with a .362 batting average while junior Brayden Taylor has smacked a team-leading 13 home runs and a team-high 35 RBIs.

West Virginia trails in the all-time series 8-24.
