West Virginia Receives Commitment from UC Transfer Kyle West

University of Charleston transfer Kyle West committed to the West Virginia University baseball program Thursday afternoon. 

West hit .374 with 30 home runs and 102 RBIs in his two years at Charleston.

The Hedgesville (WV) native earned freshman 2022 MEC Freshman of the Year and spot on the All-MEC second team after batting .342 with eight home runs and 42 RBIs. 

This past season, West led the Mountain East Conference in home runs (22), hits (72) slugging percentage (.881), on base percentage (.524), OPS (1.405), runs (72) and triples (4) to earn an All-MEC first team selection. 

West spent most of his 2023 campaign at first base but saw action at third and spent time in left field late in the season.
