West Virginia second baseman J.J. Wetherholt earned his seventh first team All-American honor Thursday evening after D1baseball.com revealed its postseason awards. 

In addition to the first team selection by D1.baseball.com, NCBWA, ABCA, Perfect Game, College Baseball Foundation, and Collegiate Baseball News selected Wetherholt first team All-American. 

The 2023 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year finished the season with an NCAA-leading .449 batting average and a program record setting and conference leading 101 hits. 

Wetherholt led the Big 12 in multiple categories - slugging percentage (.787), OPS (1.304), doubles (24) runs and stolen bases (36) and ranked second in on base percentage at .510.

Wetherholt was selected to the USA Collegiate team roster Thursday afternoon.
