BREAKING: Iona/St. John's Transfer Commits to West Virginia

Thursday evening, West Virginia scooped up another portal addition with the commitment of Quinn Slazinski.

Slazinski played the last two seasons at Iona under Rick Pitino and initially followed him to St. John's.

The 6-9 forward began his career at Louisville. Averaged 11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists last season.

“I have known the staff for many years now," Slazinski told Joe Tipton of On3 Sports. "Going to Huntington Prep, we were at many games at WVU, and it has everything I’m looking for. The fan base, mixes with the city of Morgantown had everything I wanted to offer. I’m so excited to get started, and most importantly win games.”

The 6'8", 215-pound forward averaged 11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.6 steals this past season for the Gaels. He began his career at Louisville, where he spent the first two years of his career. There, he saw minimal action as a freshman but took on an increased reserve role as a sophomore, averaging 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. For his career, Slazinski shoots the ball at a 39% clip from the field and 31% beyond the arc.

He has one year of eligibility remaining, however, he could seek a waiver for a medical redshirt for the 2022-23 season where he appeared in just seven games.
