Spread & Over/Under Predictions for WVU vs. Jacksonville State

Each game day, we will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of West Virginia games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: West Virginia -9.5

1-star play on Jacksonville State covering (+9.5): Jacksonville State is a slightly better team than Monmouth in my estimation, so if the Hawks can beat WVU, the Gamecocks will likely hang around as well. I would have made this line about 6.5 or 7. It's hard to lay points with a team that plays a seven, maybe eight man rotation. Eilert's group looks much better tonight but Jacksonville State gives them a run for their money.

Over/Under: 138.5

2-star play on the under: Because of the short bench WVU has at its disposal, I'm starting to sense this is going to be an under team until the books adjust. Although Seth Wilson, Quinn Slazinski and others can get buckets, Jesse Edwards is the only consistent scoring threat the Mountaineers have. I'll keep riding the unders in West Virginia games.

Last year's picks:

ATS record: 1-1 (50%)

O/U record: 2-0 (100%)

Overall: 3-1 (75%)
