MAILBAG: College GameDay, Glossy Helmets, Two QBs?, Projections + More

In this story:
From @2chaw_:
Q: I looked at the Week 3 schedule and think GameDay will probably be in Morgantown for the BYB. Do you think we have it locked? If not, where would it go?
A: Oh, it's coming. Tennessee and Florida is the only other game that they would consider and that's not happening. GameDay will be in Morgantown for the Brawl. I have zero doubts.
From @Huddleston1138:
Q: What do you expect the run to pass ratio to be?
A: They will be "run heavy", but they'll still want to throw it a good bit. I'd say 55/45 run/pass.
From @trailsr:
Q: What can you tell me about the incoming freshman specialists?
A: The only true freshman is punter Luke Savino. Kid has a pretty big leg on him, but won't see any action for a while for obvious reasons (Ollie Straw). Interesting note on him - he rushed for over 1,200 yards as a senior.
From @DavidWo25276002:
Q: How good will EJ Horton be this year and how long will it take to get used to the speed and strength of the Big 12 defenses?
A: I'm more concerned with his strength. It's a big jump. Can he fight through press coverage? Can he make contested catches over the middle of the field? That's something we're unsure of at the moment. What we do know is the kid can flat out fly and that alone will get him on the field. I wouldn't have huge expectations for him in 2023, but he'll make some plays.
From @mgtnquasar:
Q: Do we beat Penn State by at least 2 touchdowns?
A: That's what they keep saying, so I guess you got to go with it. Right?
From @chaneybrad:
Q: How big of a role do you think Kole Taylor and the TE position will play this season?
A: I'd like to think he'll play a big role considering he offers something at the position that WVU hasn't had there since Neal Brown arrived. He can serve as the security blanket and be a primary target on third down. We've heard for years the tight end would be more involved. They're saying that again this year. Can we believe them?
From @beaumont6969:
Q: Who plays the most snaps at will this year?
A: Assuming he stays healthy, Lee Kpogba. He's in line for a big year and you can't take him off the field. Offensively, that answer is easy. Zach Frazier.
From @ethan_dimitroff:
Q: Glossy blue lids. When they coming back?
A: Not soon enough, my friend. Not soon enough. They typically make adjustments to their uniforms every six years, so if that holds, you're looking at possibly next summer.
From @adambomb286:
Q: Will we see more than 1 QB on the field in the same formation?
A: I plead the fifth. Okay, maybe not completely. I'm not allowed to report stuff on whacky formations but Neal will get creative and I'll leave it at that.
From @Oldjoeclarkwv:
Q: Who will be the leading receiver?
A: Devin Carter is the easy answer. He's got the most experience at this level and now has an opportunity to be a featured guy. But I'll go out on a limb and say Rodney Gallagher III will challenge him for that top spot. I'm a big believer in his potential and the staff loves his skillset. They know he's a star in the making.
From @wi_thompson:
Q: We know NB has to produce this year and probably needs to be 3-2 at the end of Sept. Will we see a different coaching style from NB? More aggressive, take more chances or stay conservative with what the % says to do?
A: I don't think we'll see much of a change. He's going to take his shots here and there, but not get crazy with it. It'll also depend on the flow of the game, the score, etc. If a 4th and inches around midfield happens to pop up again in the fourth quarter, he'll go for it.
From @Henrybredemeier:
Q: Any update on Davis Mallinger? I know he was limited at the start of fall camp following his surgery
A: Still working his way back. Factor in the position change as well and it's going to be a while before he sees the field, I believe. The knee is healthy, he's just working on building the strength of it/his leg back up.
From @5677544Y:
Q: Do we win the national championship? Actually I know we do. Who do we beat in the national championship?
A: Love the optimism in here today! Whew! I'm going to say UTSA. They are legit. Just kidding, as are you. Who is my actual national champion pick? Michigan over Georgia.
