Pat Narduzzi Blasts WVU Fans During Radio Call-In

In this story:
After a ten-year hiatus, the Backyard Brawl returned to the gridiron last year at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. The Panthers won the game on a fluke play in which the ball bounced off a receiver's chest and right into the hands of a Pitt defensive back who ran it back for the go-ahead score.
It was a game that West Virginia probably should have won but they'll get their chance at revenge on September 16th when Pitt makes the 76-mile trip to Morgantown for another primetime matchup.
Friday morning, Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi surprised the crew at 93.7 The Fan by calling into the show to complain about Adam Crowley, a WVU fan, being employed by the Pittsburgh radio station.
"Yeah, this is Pat from Pittsburgh wondering why we got this West Virginia guy doing on our Pittsburgh radio show? Like, we couldn't find someone better? I mean, his parents were smart enough to go to Pittsburgh but this guy just couldn't get it done, huh?"
Crowley jabbed back by asking Narduzzi if he thinks Pitt fans will account for 75% of this year's Brawl, which is typically the percentage of WVU fans in the crowd when the Mountaineers travel up to the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"Well, there wasn't 75% here at Pittsburgh but that's a whole other story. You know, you guys like to talk about crazy stuff a year later after it didn't go so good for you," Narduzzi said. "But I don't think we'll travel as well down to Morgantown because of the smaller stadium size. And the way they treat fans down there, I think there's a lot of Pitt fans that are kind of you know -- obviously they've got the money to do it, but I just wonder what that will be like. From all the stories I've heard, there's a lot of older Pitt fans that are like, 'I'm not going down to that place. I'd rather go to the zoo.'"
All joking aside, Narduzzi is thrilled that the two will meet once again under the lights although he did throw in one more subtle jab WVU's way.
"I'm really excited about that 7:30 night game. Couldn't be more excited. I mean, hey, 7:30 in Pittsburgh a year ago? We'll take another 7:30. It'll be a great atmosphere down there. You know, where your hard hats and get ready to go. It'll be a little different style than the class in Pittsburgh."
