Phil Steele Makes Prediction for WVU at Houston

In this story:
West Virginia is aiming for a 5-1 (3-0) start to the season as they take on Dana Holgorsen and the Houston Cougars tonight on FS1 at 7 p.m. EST.
Each week on the In the Gun Podcast, Jed Drenning and I are joined by the encyclopedia of college football, Phil Steele, and ask his thoughts on some of the top games around the country, the Big 12, and of course, West Virginia.
Phil is 4-1 on his WVU game predictions this season with his only loss being the TCU game. For what it's worth, he did say the Mountaineers would cover the two-touchdown spread against the Frogs.
Here's what he had to say this week.
"It should be a decent game. For Houston, it's one of those circle-the-wagon games. If they're going to do anything this season they need to pick up a win here. I mean, they've got Texas, at Kansas State, and at Baylor on deck so it could be a long season if they drop this game.
"However, I'm very impressed with West Virginia this year. When I talked to Neal Brown, he talked about the offensive line and how confident he was in that unit and I love how the offensive line has played this year. They're opening up holes for the run game. They're taking teams out of their game that like to throw the football all over the field. They've got a mobile quarterback, the running backs have proven to be solid, and defensively, West Virginia is holding teams to 40 yards per game below their season average. Meanwhile, Houston, allowing teams 31 yards per game above their season average so I think you have a large edge on defense, a large edge in the run game, and I like the quarterback play for West Virginia. I just think West Virginia is the better team, capable of going on the road and getting the win and I do think they not only get the win but they're going to get the cover in this one as well."
