Quick Hits: Position Changes, QB Competition, Transfer Needs + More

In this story:
Position changes
"Taurus Simmons we moved back to a defensive end."
QB Competition
"First of all, I want to set our expectations. I don't plan on making a decision on this until we get into fall camp. That's what I've shared with both of them. We're playing the long game on this. We'll split the reps with Garrett [Greene] and Nicco [Marchiol] through the entire spring and there's going to be some ups and downs with that. We'll carry that competition into the summer and the fall. Now, if it's just really clear, then we'll make a choice. But I don't foresee that happening."
Establishing an identity
"We just did not play well enough last year. That's not something that we've been hiding from. We've kind of confronted that. And so, when things don't go the way you want them to go, I think you reset. We feel like from an identity standpoint we have to establish that."
What the offense will look like without Graham Harrell
"We'll be different. Schematically, we return our offensive line and we've got a really good running back room. So I think from an offensive perspective, you gotta use the pieces that you have. And we got some really good pieces. Sometimes, people focus on what you don't have."
Plan at right tackle
"We're going to work [Doug] Nester some there. We're going to play [Brandon] Yates at center and guard too to get some versatility. We've got to find the best five. Let's find the best five and fit them in there. Ja'Quay [Hubbard] will get tackle and guard reps."
What positions they may look for in the transfer portal
"I'd still say defensive line. I'd say we still have room for a secondary piece. And then offensively, just kind of want to let it see. Wideout would be the first thing."
