Quick Hits: Who is Standing Out + Update on QB Battle

In this story:
Defensive standouts
"Lee Kpogba has made some strides. I thought he played the run well today. I think we've had nine practices and he's been sharp. Sean Martin built off of Saturday and continued this week on Tuesday and Thursday. [Mike] Lockhart and Hammond Russell are both giving us something. Those are guys we're putting a lot on right now, so I'm pleased with how they've progressed."
Offensive standouts
"[Brandon] Yates has stepped in and we've been moving him around and it's encouraging. He's had a really good spring ball up to this point. He's played center, guard, and tackle. I think it speaks to his football intelligence the fact that he's been in there at center and I'm encouraged with what he's given us at guard to this point too. At receiver, Devin Carter had a big day today. Ja'Shaun Poke had his best day, we were able to get him the ball and he looked fast. I thought Kole Taylor, we got him the ball some. He's got good hands. He understands route running. And then Will Dixon, I think I mentioned this the other day, he's coming along."
Analysis on QBs
"Sean Boyle has been surprising with his athleticism. He can run. Maybe a better athlete than we initially thought coming in. They were under center in high school a lot, so this offense is a drastic change. It's a big jump. I think it's too early to kind of give where he's at. As far as Nicco [Marchiol] and Garrett [Greene], there's some really high points. Both of them are really talented. They do some of the same things well. They're different, but they have some of the same characteristics having the ability to be a dual threat. Nicco's more of a strong runner. Garrett's more of a fast runner. Their good looks really good. There's some ups and downs. But I'll say this and I wouldn't say this if I didn't feel it, I'm excited about what both of them can do."
When a decision on the QB job will be made
"Even if one of them goes on a hot streak for a week, we're not going to make our decision based off one hot week. This is going to be a deal that goes through the summer into fall camp. Through nine practices, it's really confirmed my thoughts from back in November. It's going to be a long approach."
