Steelers Release Kwiatkoski

Tuesday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Steelers released former West Virginia University linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski.
The Bethel Park (PA) native signed with the Steelers in June after spending last season with the Atlanta Falcons where he served primarily on special teams.
Kwiatkoski signed with Atlanta during the 2022 offseason after a lingering ankle injury derailed his time with the Las Vegas Raiders. In his first season with the Raiders, he set a career-high 81 tackles, eclipsing the previous mark of 76 he set in his final year with the Chicago Bears.
The Chicago Bears drafted Kwiatkoski in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He accumulated 184 tackles, 13 TFL's and six sacks in four seasons. His final year in Chicago was a breakout year, hitting career highs, 76 tackles, and three sacks on the season before the Las Vegas Raiders signed him as a free agent in 2020.
Kwiatkoski signed committed to West Virginia as a safety in 2011 before moving to linebacker. He led the team in tackles from 2013-15 and finished his career with 303 tackles, including 34 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks, along with six interceptions.
