Steelers Reportedly 'Absolutely Love' Zach Frazier

Could the former Mountaineer become a Steeler?

West Virginia center Zach Frazier is going to be heavily talked about throughout NFL circles over the next few months leading up to the 2024 NFL draft. Some believe he is No. 1 center on the board despite suffering a leg injury in the regular season finale at Baylor.

This week, Frazier is down in Mobile, Alabama hanging out at the Reese's Senior Bowl, unable to participate due to his rehab but still getting to go through the experience and meet with scouts and coaches.

According to Mike DeFabo of The Athletic, the Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that's heavily interested in the former Mountaineer.

The Athletic’s draft analyst Dane Brugler has already mocked Frazier to the Steelers, doing so in the second round in his latest projection. And in Mobile, one league source said the Steelers “absolutely love” the center."

Pittsburgh owns the 20th pick in the first round of the draft, but it's unlikely they take a center with that selection. They could either move back to the late 20s and select Frazier or wait until day two, which is more likely.

Back in October, West Virginia General Manager Drew Fabianich analyzed Frazier's game and mentioned how he is better than one of the players he helped draft when he was with the Dallas Cowboys.

"He plays longer than his length. He looks like he's short-armed and he's really not. He's 32 5/8". Smart. Physical. Great quickness. He needs to stay in contact at the second level better. His feet need to follow his hands. He's gotten better. Against [Texas] Tech, he played really well. He played really well against TCU too. Does he have a lot of knockdowns? Yes, he does. Is he tenacious? Yes, he is. This always goes back to, 'Who does he remind you of?' I said he was a better [Tyler] Biadasz. We [Dallas] took Biadasz out of Wisconsin...he's better than him. And Biadasz is starting in the NFL. He's going to play for ten years...if he stays healthy."
