Triumph after Hunter Wohler Injury

The Wisconsin Badgers 2023 football season has not been easy. Despite a strong start to the season, the team has faced many obstacles, including a multitude of injuries. But they have demonstrated grit and determination, most recently in their intense 24-17 overtime win against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Unfortunately Saturday's game also marked another injury, this time to safety Hunter Wohler.

Wohler left Saturday's game against Nebraska after he clashed with another player. His injury, described as an upper body issue, adds to the challenges Wisconsin has faced this season.

A Season of Persistence

When Hunter Wohler left the game Wisconsin was down 14-10, but the Badgers were able to take control of the game. Running back Braelon Allen and quarterback Tanner Mordecai, both of whom had faced injuries earlier in the season, stepped up remarkably against Nebraska. Allen scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime, his second for the night, while Mordecai also scored a touchdown.

Wohler's Journey: From Rookie to Mainstay

Hunter Wohler's journey with the Badgers, starting from his first season in 2021, has been remarkable. Participating in all 13 games in his first year Wohler pulled off  17 total tackles and a sack.Despite suffering a leg injury in the 2022 season opener, he still managed to make a mark in 6 games. Wohler has had a stellar 2023 season with 101 total tackles, including a sack and two interceptions. Back in September, we put the spotlight on Wohler due to his immense defensive talent. We hope that Wohler has a quick and easy recovery.

The Wisconsin Badgers, facing a season filled injuries, have shown tenacity. The team's ability to adapt and overcome obstacles, especially in high-pressure situations like the Nebraska game, is proof of their spirit and determination. Looking forward, the Badgers will continue to rely on their depth and resilience as they navigate the remainder of the season. Next up they'll take on Minnesota on November 25.
