Wisconsin Defied Odds to Beat Minnesota

It’s not every day that the underdog comes out on top, but that’s precisely what happened when the No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers faced the No. 1 Minnesota Gophers in Minneapolis. This wasn't just a victory; it was a statement. Wisconsin fell behind early in the game but fought back fiercely to secure a 5-2 win.

Forward Mathieu De St. Phalle scored twice, making it his third consecutive multi-point game. Likewise, sophomore forward Cruz Lucius netted two goals, tying his career high. Forward Carson Bantle also found the back of the net after an airborne pass from Jack Horbach.

While the forwards captured the spotlight, sophomore defenseman Ben Dexheimer quietly delivered an exceptional performance at the blue line. Setting a new career-high in points, Dexheimer's three assists were crucial in aiding the Badgers' attacks.

Final Thoughts

With this 5-2 upset victory, Wisconsin is off to its best seven-game start since the 2000-01 season. As they gear up for another face-off against Minnesota tonight at 8 p.m., the Badgers have all the momentum they need.
