What is a Helldivers 2 Devastator?
As mentioned before, a Devastator in Helldivers 2 is one of the enemy units in the automaton faction known as the ‘The Bots’. They’re dangerous robot enemies with a bulky build, a head that sits down lower in their chest than on their shoulders. They come in two different types; regular Devastators and rocket Devastators. The latter being more dangerous because of the rockets on their shoulders.
To help recognize and find Devastators quickly, players can mark enemies using the R1 Button on consoles and it will show the name of the enemy.

The Devastators in Helldivers 2 are called that for a reason, they hit extremely hard and when equipped with rockets can defeat a player with one direct hit. If facing a Rocket Devastator, shoot off the shoulder-mounted rockets first.
Because of their bulky, armored frame, Devastators can be hard to take down with traditional weaponry, so make sure you have explosives handy such as grenades, the grenade launchers or mortors to defeat them. Stratagems are also extremely effective, very little can survive an Orbital Strike.
Another key strategy for defeating Devastators in Helldivers 2 is to aim for the head that is sitting just inside the top of their chest as it’s the only weak point on their body.
