Palworld Devs Address Cheating and Server Lockout

Cheating has become a major problem in Palworld and now players can't even log in to official servers. The developers have a plan.

Palworld Developers Pocketpair Address Rampant Cheating, Introducing New Countermeasures and Anti-Cheat

  • Palworld Developers are dealing with a cheating exploit that makes some players unable to connect to official servers.
  • New anti-cheat solutions will be introduced as the developers make dealing with cheaters a priority.
  • By the end of April, they hope to introduce a player list function to help identify cheaters more easily and deal with them permanently.

After launching in early access on January 19th, Palworld has sold well over 12 million copies on Steam and had the third biggest launch ever on Xbox Gamepass. Between Steam and Xbox, the game reportedly had over 19 million players, so it should come as no surprise that among them there would be some cheaters. Pocketpair, the developers behind Palworld, are committed to weeding out and keeping the official community servers free of such players.

Why anyone would feel the need to cheat in a game that has yet to introduce any official PvP content is a question for the ages. While past exploits have allowed players to catch and steal other players' Pals, the newest cheating scandal is restricting some players from accessing the official community servers.

Pocketpair released a statement confirming that the reason players cannot access the official servers is because of fraudulent activities. They also mention they are working on measures to deal with it strictly and as a priority.

Furthermore, they will be implementing anti-cheat solutions and at the end of February introducing a player list function for servers that should help them with identifying and suspending players who engage in fraudulent activities such as cheating.

It should also be mentioned that these countermeasures will be optional for community servers, single-player, and co-op.

Palworld shares an announcement and update about cheating on official servers.

Palworld shares an announcement and update about cheating on official servers.

You can read the full statement by Pocketpair below.

“Currently, some users are unable to connect to official servers due to cheating and the influence of fraudulent activities. We have confirmed that some players are unable to play the game properly.

As a company, we do not tolerate any fraudulent activity or cheating, and we are working on measures to deal with it strictly and as a priority.

First of all, we plan to release a player list function for servers in an update at the end of February. Through this, we will strengthen the identification of players who engage in cheating and the suspension of their use by the development team.

Following this, we plan to introduce an external anti-cheat solution to take measures against particularly frequent fraudulent activities and cheating.

*Please note: In the case of community servers, single-player, and co-op, the use of this function is optional.

In addition to the above measures, we will continue to take thorough measures against further cheating and fraudulent activities.

Although the development team is dealing with each issue on a daily basis and taking measures, there are many cases where we are not able to keep up, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our entire team is working hard to get everyone back to a state where they can enjoy the game comfortably and with peace of mind as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support.”
