Miami Marlins third baseman Casey McGehee barely avoided becoming the victim of a gruesome baseball moment last night, when he was hit by a broken bat while in the on deck circle.

Giancarlo Stanton's broken bat slammed into McGehee's arm but luckily avoided the splintered side by about an inch.

The journeyman third baseman looked pretty shaken up by the incident, but didn't suffer any injuries, although one would imagine he is still a little wary of on-deck circles.

At least he fared better than Tyler Colvin.
