The Daily Show with Jon Stewart focused the show's opening segment Wednesday on Roger Goodell and the NFL's handling of the Ray Rice domestic assault, as well as the ensuing fallout from the video tape that was released to the public on Monday.

The show points out that the league spends a great deal of time every Sunday pouring over tape to decide when a ball is fumbled, and even built a massive new replay "command center" for the 2014 season. But for some reason it did not seem interested in the interior elevator tape.

Stewart ramps the scorn for the commissioner up to the next level when it comes to the league's story conflicting with Associated Press reports that the tape was delivered to NFL offices in April
