Peyton Manning had a stage 4 cancer patient as his guest on Sunday
Peyton Manning had a special guest for the Broncos season opener against the Ravens on Sunday, inviting one of his biggest fans to watch him play while she fights stage 4 breast cancer.
Kari Barnett Bollig told the Indianapolis Starthat she wanted to write letters to people who were important to her as the disease advanced through her body, and the former Indiana resident decided to pen one to her favorite quarterback.

After reading the note, Manning sent for Bollig and her husband, bringing the couple not just to the game, but also to team photos and the Saturday walkthroughs, where he spent time chatting with the fan.
"It was real easy and laid back, not at all nervewracking," she said. "He's welcoming. He's like a gentle giant. It was such a personal moment. It was a once in a lifetime thing."
