Michigan football star Rod Moore tears ACL in practice: report

Michigan football suffered a notable injury concern during a spring practice over the weekend as star safety Rod Moore tore his ACL, according to multiple reports.

The injury appears to have been non-contact in nature, according to Rivals.

Torn ACLs typically require anywhere from nine to 12 months to fully recover, a timeline that would put Moore's availability for the 2024 football season in doubt.

A native of Clayton, Ohio, Moore has been a three-year starter for Michigan, and was named a third-team All-Big Ten selection by league coaches during the 2023 season when the Wolverines won the national championship.

Moore had 38 combined tackles and two interceptions, including the game-winner against rival Ohio State in the regular season finale last November.

He intercepted four passes and broke up seven more the year prior, adding 71 combined tackles, and in his college football career has a half-sack to go with 141 stops and six picks.

Moore elected to return to Michigan this season instead of entering the NFL Draft, but now his immediate future is called into question as he deals with a new injury.
