Murray State at Louisville
Thurs., Sept. 7 | 7:30 p.m. | ACCN
Line: Louisville -40
FPI pick: Louisville 98.4%

Murray State: The Racers won their opener in a rout against Presbyterian and had two 100-yard passers in the process as DJ Williams and Eric Phoenix both also threw a touchdown pass. MSU's last win against an FBS team was against Louisville in 1984.

Louisville: The new-look Cardinals overcame a 28-13 deficit at halftime in the opener to secure a come from behind win against Georgia Tech, as Jake Plummer went 10 of 14 for 157 yards in the second half comeback bid. UL has won 11 of its last 13 overall against MSU and 9 of the last 11 at home, including the last 2 games while posting 121 combined points in those meetings.

Lions at Chiefs
Thurs., Sept. 7 | 8:20 p.m. | NBC
Line: Chiefs -5.5 Track it live
FPI pick: Chiefs 66.2%

Lions: Detroit lost six of its first seven games last season but responded strongly by winning eight of their last 10 and the Lions' offense added to its arsenal alongside quarterback Jared Goff by acquiring tailbacks David Montgomery, in free agency, and Jahmyr Gibbs, in the draft. Detroit finished with a top-five offense in football thanks to a rushing attack that posted the 11th most production in the league.

Chiefs: The defending Super Bowl champions tend to win these home openers with Patrick Mahomes at the helm: they're 5-0 with him as starter and in four of those matchups won by more than 10 points while Mahomes hit 18 TDs and no INTs. Travis Kelce will not play after he hyperextended his knee in a recent practice and the team elected to preserve him for the season ahead; the star TE caught 110 passes for 1,338 yards and scored 12 times a year ago.
