One of the top names in the 2023 college football recruiting cycle is nearing a decision as 5-star quarterback Jalen Rashada has revealed his top schools.

Rashada confirmed that seven schools remain in contention to sign him, including: LSU, Oregon, Florida, Ole Miss, Miami, Cal, and Texas A&M.

The quarterback said he will make his final announcement on June 18, a date of importance to himself and his family.

"I'll be committing on my dad's birthday," Rashada said. "I'm going to be doing the most research possible and picking wherever is best for me and my future."

SEC schools dominate

Rashada — who hails from Pittsburg, Calif. — had good things to say about each of the schools on his list, but pointed out in particular how well he thought LSU and Florida had developed quarterbacks in recent years.

The quarterback also said he felt like the staff at Ole Miss is "like family to me," and commended how the Rebels have embraced an aggressive, quarterback-focused offensive style under head coach Lane Kiffin.

Predicting where he'll sign

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine lists Oregon as the school most likely to sign Rashada, giving the Ducks a 38 percent chance at the player. Miami posts the second-best odds at 26.2 percent, followed by Texas A&M at 21.6 percent.

College Football HQ ranks Rashada as the No. 7 quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class. 247Sports rates the player as the fifth-ranked QB in the cycle, and On3 named Rashada the seventh-best player at his position and the No. 5 player in California.
