College football transfer portal 2023-24 live updates

Live updates as the 2024 college football transfer portal opens up

Free agency has come to college football thanks to the new transfer portal, and up to now a few thousand players have already taken advantage, with many more on the move leading up to the 2024 season. The portal opens the winter window on Dec. 4, the day following College Football Playoff selection, and will remain open for the next 30 days, allowing players time to make their decisions.

The NCAA created two transfer portal windows: the 30-day period that begins right after Selection Sunday, and a spring period from April 15-30. The dates of the first official window are Dec. 4, 2023 to Jan. 2, 2024. Players can officially enter the transfer portal at midnight and declare their intentions after that.
