Kentucky football: Wildcats RB Chris Rodriguez's 2022 season in doubt

Kentucky running back Chris Rodriguez may not be able to play the full 2022 football season stemming from legal issues including a DUI arrest and more.
Details are still unclear and no final answer has been given, but Rodriguez's future with the Wildcats itself may be coming to an end, according to KSR.
"It's up in the air"
“I would say it’s up in the air what the future of Chris Rodriguez will be at Kentucky,” Jones said on KSR.
“I don’t think it’s decided, and to be honest with you, I’m not sure what this is, but something has occurred that is not related to the DUI that could end up making it to where he is not on the team.”
If the running back stays with the team, it's a virtual certainty that he will face an early season suspension, including the Wildcats' Week 2 game against Florida.
Jones added that Rodriguez "may not play all year."
Rodriguez was arrested in early May for DUI and careless driving after being stopped by university police, who noticed a broken taillight on his car.
A rising star in college football
Rodriguez was one of the most productive running backs in college football a year ago, rushing for 1,379 yards and nine touchdowns for the 10-3 Wildcats.
He was named first-team All SEC by the AP for a performance which included nine 100-yard rushing games, including five straight to end the season.
Rodriguez, who comes into this season as the reigning rushing leader in the SEC, figured to play a vital role for Kentucky's offense this fall.
