Tiger Stadium at LSU is known the world over for its loud, raucous atmosphere during the college football season, with fan noise even registering as a small earthquake on the seismograph at the school's geoscience department.

Most recently, however, it wasn't the LSU football team that made the earth shake, but country music icon Garth Brooks, who was playing Tiger Stadium over the weekend.

And when Brooks kicked off the concert with his 1993 hit "Callin' Baton Rouge," an unofficial anthem at LSU games, the school was ready with its seismograph.

At about 9:30 p.m. that night, Baton Rouge registered a small earthquake. Or a "Garthquake," if you will.

Any mention of earthquakes at LSU has to include the famous game between the Tigers and then-No. 4 Auburn during the 1988 football season.

LSU quarterback Tommy Hodson led an upset over their SEC West rivals with a now legendary fourth down touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter that inspired a fan reaction so intense that it also registered on the school's seismograph.
