Former Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners' Slugger Making History with LA Dodgers

Teoscar Hernandez, who signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason, has made team history through his first 10 games with the organization. The Dodgers are out to a 7-3 start on the year.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are out to a 7-3 start this season and outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is a big reason why. Hernandez, who signed a one-year deal this offseason with Los Angeles, is hitting .300 with four homers and 14 RBI through the first 10 games of the season.

Those numbers put him up at the top of the Dodgers' lengthy history.

Per @StatsCentre on social media:

Most RBI by a player in their first 10 games with the franchise - MLB modern era (1900-present):

14- Teoscar Hernandez (Via 4 so far today against the Cubs)
13- Jim Wynn
13- Manny Ramirez
12- Jeff Kent
12- Will Smith
11- Jimmy Ripple
11- Milton Bradley
11- Hanley Ramirez

It's been a great start for Hernandez, who is certainly aided by hitting in an order with Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani. After adding Hernandez, Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow and James Paxton this offseason, the Dodgers are certainly at the top of the World Series favorite list.

The 31-year-old Hernandez is in his ninth big league season with the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners and Dodgers. He's a .261 lifetime hitter with 163 homers and 487 RBI. He hit a career-high 32 homers back in 2021 and is coming off a year in which he hit 26 for Seattle.

The Dodgers wil take on the Chicago Cubs on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field. First pitch is set for 4:05 p.m. ET as Yoshinobu Yamamoto (0-1, 7.50 ERA) will pitch against Cubs' left-hander Jordan Wicks, who is 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA.
