AEW News: Huge Update On Contract Status Of Popular AEW Star After Revolution

Big news on a current AEW talent's contract.

Some news has surfaced on the contract status of one key member of the AEW roster.

AEW is coming off one of its most memorable pay-per-view events to date. AEW Revolution 2024 was headlined by the final match in the legendary career of Sting. Fans left the Greensboro Coliseum with a memory they won't soon forget, as "The Icon" and Darby Allin successfully retained the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks.

In the midst of the feel-good moment came a report on one top AEW star's current deal amid rumors.

Fightful Select reports that "Absolute" Ricky Starks remains under contract with AEW. Both AEW sources and those close to Starks have told Fightful that the former tag team champion is still All Elite. There had been rumors swirling on Starks potentially being a free agent. The speculation grew as Starks hasn't had a match in AEW since February 7th.

Starks has long been rumored to eventually leave AEW for WWE given his strong relationship with Cody Rhodes. That remains to be seen, however, and is simply "rumor and innuendo" as some might say.

AEW has been busy during a crucial time for free agency in the wrestling industry. Mercedes Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, is expected to debut for AEW on March 13. Former NJPW star Kazuchika Okada is also thought of to be AEW-bound.

While Tony Khan has been aggressive in signing talent, he certainly doesn't want to start losing some key talent already on the roster.
