Devin Haney Defeats Regis Prograis In One-Sided Affair (Video)

Haney vs. Prograis is now in the history books.

Devin Haney and Regis Prograis have wrapped up their WBC title showdown.

Haney and Prograis did battle inside the Chase Center in San Francisco, California on December 9. Prograis put the WBC junior welterweight championship on the line against Haney, and he was looking for his second successful WBC title defense.

As for Haney, he relinquished all of his gold at lightweight for a chance at dethroning Prograis at 140 pounds. Haney issued a statement just before this bout claiming that attempts to get a deal done for a Gervonta "Tank" Davis fight were unsuccessful, and he blamed it on Gervonta's team.

Davis' trainer, Kenny Ellis, told Abraham Gonzalez that Haney's statement is "cap." Regardless, Haney said he plans was to defeat Prograis and eventually capture a world title at 147 pounds.

Prograis had a heated moment during the ceremonial weigh-ins, slamming Haney's supporters in the crowd. Prograis had no problem playing the heel role during fight promotion, as he will be in enemy territory fighting in Haney's hometown.

Haney was active in the bout, using his jab and moving in and out. In the end, his activity was too much for Prograis, and it showed as he took home a wide unanimous decision.

Here are video highlights of Devin Haney's dominant unanimous decision victory over Regis Prograis:
