Undefeated Russian Phenom to Debut at UFC 294 in October, Despite Controversy

Sharabutdin Magomedov is finally making his UFC debut, but is it the right call?

Middleweight MMA prospect Sharabutdin "Shara Bullet" Magomedov will be making his long-awaited UFC debut at UFC 294 on October 21. Sharabutdin fights in the middleweight division and maintains a clean 11-0 record, with 10 finishes by KO/TKO.

Magomedov's debut was revealed in an Instagram post by his sponsor 'Gorilla Supplements' on July 26

Primarily a kickboxer, Magomedov also owns victories in kickboxing, including City Kickboxing standout Blood Diamond.

The undefeated Russian's debut isn't without issue, however, as Magomedov was caught up in at least two controversies prior to being signed.

"Shara Bullet" was involved in an assault when he attacked a stranger for kissing their partner in a Dagestani mall. The altercation was caught on camera:

Ironically, the Dagestani victim really held their own and Magomedov, the professional fighter, came off worse. Though, in extended footage, it can be seen that Magomedov waits for the man at an exit, where he sucker punches him and stamps on his head.

In a minor altercation at the ADCC Southeast Asia tournament, Magomedov again assaulted his opponent in a grappling match after feigning a tap:

Was it the right choice for the UFC to sign such a loose cannon? Perhaps this can be an opportunity for Magomedov to wipe his slate clean and focus on championship gold on the world-stage of MMA.
