Derrick Rose Makes Bold Statement On NBA Future

Derrick Rose (Memphis Grizzlies) met with the media on Monday.

The Memphis Grizzlies had a tough season, and dealt with a lot of injuries to key players.

Therefore, they finished the year as the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 27-55 record in 82 games.

Derrick Rose signed with team last summer, and averaged 8.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest while shooting 46.1% from the field and 36.6% from the three-point range in 24 games.

The former MVP has now played 15 seasons in the NBA.

On Monday, he met with the media for exit interviews, and revealed that he will continue to play (for the Grizzlies) next year.

Rose: "Yes, I'm coming back. I talked to Zach. I talked to coach. I didn't stop working out even though ya'll haven't see me on the court. I've been working out every day. Twice a day, sometimes."

Rose was the first pick in the 2008 NBA Draft after one season of college baksetball playing for the Memphis Tigers.

In addition to the Grizzlies, he has also spent time with the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks (twice), Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers.

The best tenure of his career came with the Bulls when he made three NBA All-Star Games and won the 2011 MVP Award.

His career averages are 17.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per contest while shooting 45.6% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point range in 723 regular season games.

He has also appeared in 41 NBA playoff games with the Knicks, Timberwolves and Bulls.
