Boston Celtics Make Roster Move Before Mavs Game

The Boston Celtics have assigned a player to the G League.

On Tuesday evening, the Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 117-99.  

Rookie Jordan Walsh did not appear in the game, and on Wednesday, the team announced that they have assigned him to the Maine Celtics (G League).

Walsh has gone back and forth between Boston and Maine many times this season. 

The former Arkansas star was the 38th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and is averaging 2.8 rebounds per contest in the four games he has played for Boston. 

Walsh is averaging 14.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 43.4% from the field and 36.3% from the three-point range in 18 G League regular season games.

He also appeared in 16 Showcase Cup games and averaged 14.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 34.1% from the three-point range.

The Celtics will play their next game on Friday evening when they host the Dallas Mavericks. 

Meanwhile, Maine also plays on Friday (against the Wisconsin Herd).

As for the Celtics, they are having an incredible season and are the best team in the NBA.

They are the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 46-12 record in 58 games. 

The Celtics are in the middle of a nine-game winning streak and an outstanding 27-3 in the 30 games they have hosted on their home floor in Boston.
