BREAKING: Boston Celtics Reportedly Sign 3-Year NBA Player

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Boston Celtics will sign Lamar Stevens (who most recently played for the Cleveland Cavaliers).

Lamar Stevens is coming off another solid year where he appeared in 62 regular season games (and two NBA playoff games) with the Cleveland Cavaliers

The former Penn State star averaged 5.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point range.

This summer, Stevens was traded to the San Antonio Spurs and then waived, so he became a free agent.

On Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the Boston Celtics will sign Stevens.

Via Charania: "Free agent G/F Lamar Stevens has agreed to a deal with the Boston Celtics, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Stevens established himself as a defensive presence for the Cavs, starting in 25 of 62 games last season. Agent Scott Nichols completed deal with Celtics officials."

Stevens initially went undrafted in 2020 and has played three seasons in the NBA for the Cavs.

His career averages are 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field and 28.1% from the three-point range in 165 regular season games (he has also appeared in two NBA playoff games).

As for the Celtics, they are among the best teams in the entire NBA.

They are coming off a fantastic year where they were the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 57-25 record.

After beating the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers in the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs, the Celtics lost to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Conference Finals.
