The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a season where they were made the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2011.

So far this year, they have been solid and are in a three-way tie for the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 27-25 record in 52 games.

On Tuesday afternoon, the team announced that they have signed Chris Silva to a ten-day contract.

Via Mavs PR: "The Dallas Mavericks have signed Chris Silva to a 10-day contract. Silva joins Dallas after beginning the year with the G League’s College Park Skyhawks, where he averaged 14.2 points (.586 FG%, .781 FT%), 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 11 regular-season games (10 starts)."

Silva is 26 years old and played his college basketball for South Carolina.

In 2017, he helped lead the Gamecocks to the Final Four, and he played there for four seasons before going undrafted in 2019.

This will be his fourth season in the NBA, and he has spent time with the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Through 69 games, he has averages of 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest (on 60.6% shooting from the field).

He spent the most time with the Heat (64 out of 69 games) and played 44 games for them during his rookie season.

Being on a ten-day contract will give the Mavs an excellent chance to see if he is a good fit on their roster.

In addition, they have played the last six games without Christian Wood so Silva will add depth to their frontcourt.
