BREAKING: Detroit Pistons Reportedly Release 6-Year NBA Player

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Detroit Pistons have agreed to a contract buyout with Shake Milton.

On Friday evening, the Detroit Pistons hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers in Michigan

The Pistons lost by a score of 110-100, and Shake Milton did not appear in the game.

Following the loss, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Pistons and Milton have agreed to a contract buyout.

Milton was traded (via the Minnesota Timberwolves) earlier this season and is averaging 4.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 40.3% from the field and 27.4% from the three-point range.

He appeared in four games with Detroit (and 38 with Minnesota).

Via Wojnarowski: "ESPN Sources: Detroit Pistons G Shake Milton has agreed on a contract buyout, allowing him to meet the March 1 deadline for playoff eligibility. Milton landed with Pistons from Timberwolves at trade deadline."

Milton was the 54th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out SMU.

He has played six seasons in the league for the 76ers, Pistons and Timberwolves.

His career averages are 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest while shooting 45.1% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point range in 296 regular season games.

The 27 year old has also appeared in 34 NBA playoff games with the 76ers (four starts).

As for the Pistons, they have had a tough season and are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 9-50 record in 59 games.

They are 3-7 over their last ten games and will visit the Orlando Magic on Sunday evening in Florida.

Milton could be an intriguing addition to a contending team's bench after he clears waivers.
