On Thursday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Chicago Bulls in California.

LeBron James is playing in his 1,462nd game, which ties Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett for seventh on the NBA's all-time regular season games played list.

Following Garnett, the next player for James to pass will be Hall of Famer Karl Malone (1,476).

James came into the evening with averages of 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 52.0% from the field and 39.1% from the three-point range in 40 games.

The four-time NBA Champion returned to the lineup after missing Tuesday's 127-116 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

At 39, he is still among the best players in the world and has been able to play in 41 out of the team's 46 games.

Earlier in the evening, James was named to his 20th straight NBA All-Star Game.

The Lakers have had an up-and-down season and are currently 22-23 in their first 45 games.

They are 5-5 over their last ten games and 16-8 in the 24 games they have played at home.

Following the Bulls, the Lakers will travel to San Francisco to face off against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

James was the first pick in the 2003 NBA Draft and is in his sixth season playing for Los Angeles.

He has also spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers (twice) and Miami Heat over his 21 seasons in the league.
