On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Miami Heat at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Chris Paul is playing in his 1,242nd game, which ties Dwight Howard for 36th on the NBA's all-time regular season games played list

Following Howard, the next players for Paul to pass will be Tony Parker (1,254) and Paul Silas (1,254).

Paul came into the evening with averages of 8.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 39.4% from the field and 31.3% from the three-point range in 27 games.

At 38, he is no longer a superstar, but he is still a reliable point guard.

The Warriors are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 15-15 record in their first 30 games.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 120-114.

In 28 minutes of playing time, Paul had 13 points, three rebounds and three assists while shooting 5/10 from the field and 3/5 from the three-point range.

Following the Heat, the Warriors will remain at home to host the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday evening at the Chase Center.

Paul is one of the greatest point guards of all time and is in his 19th season in the league.

In addition to Golden State, the 12-time NBA All-Star has also spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder.
