Golden State Warriors Make Roster Move After Spurs Game

The Golden State Warriors have assigned a player to the G League.

On Saturday evening, the Golden State Warriors lost to the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 126-113 (at the Chase Center in San Francisco).

Gui Santos played six minutes and had one rebound and one assist.

Following the game, the Warriors announced that Santos had been assigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors (G League).

Via Warriors PR: "The Golden State Warriors have assigned forward Gui Santos to the team's G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, it was announced today. Santos is expected to play in Santa Cruz's game tomorrow afternoon versus the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at Chase Center (12:30 p.m. PDT tipoff)."

Santos was the 55th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and is in his first season playing in the NBA.

He is averaging 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 48.7% from the field and 38.9% from the three-point range in 16 games.

Santos is currently averaging 12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 40.2% from the field and 29.4% from the three-point range in nine G League regular season games.

The Warriors are 33-30 in 63 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference (the final play-in tournament spot).

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and have gone 6-4 over their last ten games.

On Monday evening, the Warriors will travel to San Antonio for another matchup with the Spurs.

It's possible that Santos will be recalled to the Warriors before the game.
