Ja Morant's Status For Grizzlies-Clippers Game

Ja Morant has been ruled out (not with team) for Sunday's game.

On Sunday night, the Memphis Grizzlies will be in California to face off with the Los Angeles Clippers.

For the game, they will be without their best player, as All-Star guard Ja Morant is not with the team.

Via Grizzlies PR On March 4: "The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that Ja Morant will be away from the team for at least the next two games."

His absence is because of an alleged social media post where he appeared to be holding a gun.

On Saturday, Morant released a statement

Morant's statement: "I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I'm sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I'm going to take some time away to get help and work on learning methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being."

The two-time NBA All-Star has also allegedly deactivated his social media accounts

Morant had been in the middle of another tremendous season with averages of 27.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.1 steals per contest in 53 games (while shooting 46.3% from the field).

The Grizzlies are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 38-24 record in 62 games.

They are 6-4 in their last ten games but just 12-19 in 31 games on the road.

For reference, the Grizzlies are an outstanding 26-5 in 31 games at home.

As for the Clippers, they come into the night as the eighth seed in the west with a 33-33 record in 66 games.
